Invite 99 // Aug 27Something strange happens to me when I sit at my computer for too long. My browser accumulates tabs, my attention bounces between tasks, and I start to feel a combined sense of detachment and claustrophobia. I lose myself in a digital world. The simple solution is usually to close my laptop and get outside for a walk or bike ride. But sometimes, during busier and more complicated times of life, even that isn't enough—the feeling lingers. When that happens, I need something bigger. For me, the cure has always been space. I find peace and perspective cross-country skiing across snowy fields, canoeing on a vast lake, or watching the sunset from a mountain lookout. Big spaces make daily problems feel small. Luckily, we live in a state filled with such spaces. Hike in the shadow of Katahdin, gaze at the night sky from the hundred-mile wilderness, or look out to the distant islands of Penobscot Bay from the Camden Hills, and you'll know what I mean. ✌️ Max Reach 800+ Maine outdoor enthusiasts while supporting a community resource.
