Maine Outsider: Invite 100 // Sep 3

Invite 100 // Sep 3

Two and a half years ago, I drafted an email in Gmail and sent it to twelve friends with the subject line "Maine Outsider: Issue 1."

The writing was a touch spicier back then... "Each week, I'll digest this fatty diet of outdoor goodies and baby bird only the best nuggets into your inbox."

But the mission looked the same.

Today, you're reading the 100th issue. What started as an experiment has evolved into a small community and a joyful practice. I've learned so much about Maine's wonderful, intimate outdoor scene, and I hope you have too.

Milestones call for both reflection and planning. Looking ahead, the plan is to simply keep going. But I also have some experiments brewing:

  • Searchable directory & map - so you can instantly connect with local groups
  • Curated media roundups - the best outdoor news, podcasts, and stories
  • Consistent sponsors - to keep this sustainable and cover costs (reach out if you're interested)
  • Unique resources - like guides to car-free adventures
  • Event support - helping organizers design and market better outdoor programming

How long have you been along for the ride? What would you like to see in the next 100 issues? Reply with your thoughts
